Without a doubt, Sinner deserves his place as world No. 1. Since 2024, the Italian has left almost no room for his direct competitors, except for Alcaraz. Victorious at the 2024 US Open, the 2025 Australian Open, and Wimbledon 2025—not to mention his wins at the latest Masters and the most recent Davis Cup—Sinner has become the first player since 1970 to simultaneously hold the titles of all these tournaments.
Federer, Djokovic, and Sampras could have also achieved this feat, but each of them was missing the Davis Cup.
This new statistic further solidifies the player's dominance on the tour. For context, Sinner was a finalist at Roland-Garros, coming extremely close to winning (three match points). Additionally, since Cincinnati last year, the 23-year-old has reached the final of every tournament he has played, except Halle (losing to Bublik in the second round).
