"When you reach the top and no one is climbing with you, you feel alone," says Mouratoglou about Djokovic
In the podcast *All on The Table* aired on YouTube, Mouratoglou, the renowned French coach, reflected on Novak Djokovic's recent performances. Despite reaching three consecutive Grand Slam semifinals, the Serbian player seemed to lack motivation, according to the 55-year-old.
"He just realized he would be the greatest of all time because Rafa was no longer there, and the battle he had fought for 15 years was over. Suddenly, he no longer has a goal.
So I think he completely lost his motivation, which is normal. He’s an incredible competitor, but when you reach the summit and no one is climbing with you, you feel alone."
For context, the Serbian player is still chasing a 25th Grand Slam title, with his last one dating back to 2023 (US Open). However, since his historic victory at the Paris Olympics, the 38-year-old has only won one title on the tour (Geneva).
