Sinner: "I hope to get back into shape as soon as possible".

Sinner: I hope to get back into shape as soon as possible.

Jannik Sinner is no longer as flamboyant as he was at the start of the season.

Ill, he missed the Olympic Games and is now trying to regain his rhythm.

Beaten by Andrey Rublev in the quarter-finals in Montreal, where he was the defending champion, Sinner has not regained his composure.

Questioned in a press conference, the world No. 1 made no secret of the fact. He's still not at 100% physically: "I was in bed for several days.

Playing two matches in the same day wasn't easy for anyone, it's not something we're used to.

However, Rublev was also tired. Andrey played better in the important moments and deserved to win.

My overall form is certainly far from 100%.

I hope to get back into shape as soon as possible, even if it's not going to be possible to perform miracles in five days.

I won't be at 100% in Cincinnati, but I want to be at 100% for the US Open, which is the most important event for me."
