Sinner: "It was a strange morning".
Jannik Sinner defeated Holger Rune to qualify for the quarter-finals of the Australian Open. However, he had a medical time-out during the match.
After the match, he explained that he was having slight physical problems: "It was a very difficult match for both of us.
I knew he'd played some very long matches before today, so I tried to concentrate mentally, hold my serve and see what I could do from the baseline.
Today, I needed the public's support, so I tried to make them happy. It was a strange morning. I didn't even warm up.
I tried to get on the court as best I could, even though I knew I was going to suffer. Technically, I was playing well, which gave me hope of competing."
