Sinner Joins Elite Circle and Sets Grand Slam Youth Record

Jannik Sinner has been the world's best player since the start of the 2024 season. Consistently strong in major tournaments, the Italian has reached another Grand Slam final at the US Open.
The San Candido native will now compete in his sixth Major final, all achieved in the last eight tournaments of this category. Moreover, Sinner broke a record after his semifinal victory against Félix Auger-Aliassime (6-1, 3-6, 6-3, 6-4).
Indeed, he has become the youngest player in the Open Era to reach the final of all four Grand Slam tournaments in a single season, at 24 years and 22 days old. Before him, only three players since 1968 had achieved this feat: Rod Laver (1969), Roger Federer (2006, 2007, 2009), and Novak Djokovic (2021, 2023).
While the Australian and the Serb reached the finals of the sport's four most prestigious tournaments in the same season after turning 30, the Swiss, on the other hand, accomplished this feat three times between the ages of 25 and 28.
It is also worth noting that with five consecutive finals in the tournament category, Sinner has joined an elite circle of players who have reached at least five Major finals in a row.
He joins Federer (10 between Wimbledon 2005 and the US Open 2007, then 8 between Roland Garros 2008 and the Australian Open 2010), Djokovic (6 between the Australian Open 2015 and Roland Garros 2016, then 5 between Roland Garros 2020 and the US Open 2021), and Nadal (5 between Roland Garros 2011 and Roland Garros 2012).
