Sinner on his decision not to play a tournament before the Australian Open: "Last season was very long".
Jannik Sinner has decided for the 2025 season not to play any Australian Open warm-up tournaments.
Present in Melbourne, he explained his decision in a press conference: "Last season was very, very long.
I also played in the Davis Cup, so after that you need time to rest and get everything back on track.
You need a pre-season that lasts a certain amount of time to prepare your body in the best possible way, by making technical and tactical changes to your game.
It takes time, so we decided not to play any tournaments beforehand. You never know what's going to happen, especially in the first round.
In a Grand Slam, you never know, but I know how much work we've put in, so we'll see how it goes."
