This Sunday, Jannik Sinner concluded his formidable 2024 season with a title at the ATP Finals. At home in Turin, he dominated Taylor Fritz (6-4, 6-4) to claim his 8th title of the year.

The world No. 1 and tour boss demonstrated his superiority in the Masters tournament, winning his 70th match in 2024 against the American, losing just 6 times. The Italian has reached the quarter-finals of all his tournaments since January.

And that's not all, as the 23-year-old became the first man since Ivan Lendl in 1986 to win the ATP Finals without losing a set.

Back then, the Masters Final was played to the best of five sets, and the Czech (naturalized American in 1992) dominated Boris Becker in three short sets.

Sinner achieves a feat unseen since 2016

Sinner's Masters triumph confirms his position as leader of the ATP rankings more than ever, and he has also entered the history books.

With 70 wins in 2024, he became the first player since Andy Murray in 2016 to reach this symbolic milestone of victories in a single year.

Eight years earlier, the Scot won 9 trophies in 2016 and also ended the year with a Masters title over Novak Djokovic.

Over the season as a whole, he had won 78 matches and lost just 9, retaining his position as world number 1 after his final match against the Serb.

With two Grand Slam titles, the Masters and three new Masters 1000 titles to his name, Jannik Sinner is confirming his meteoric rise as the player to beat in 2025. And he may not have finished setting new records yet.

While Ukrainian athletes have had to rethink their entire organization, an entire country, behind the scenes, has had to adapt and change its training conditions. This extends all the way to the highest level, where professional players have spoken out, trying as best they can to help their nation.

As we move to the end of this month and also closing out the year I am wishing all of those following me a Merry Christmas and a Happy/Healthy New Year.

Let's make that wish for all 2000 plus players hoping for 5 wins each day. Hoping ŵhen we open the results page to see all green, and no red. And especially NO CANCELED matches.

From me and my rotti JAZ, I bid you all good night, and see you in...

why did tennis tonic void predictions on the match between Chwalinska and Huergo at the Quito tournament? The match was played to completion and on time. If TT feels the match is one sided, and of course it was, then don't put it up for prediction. This is getting irritating.

The finals are here, and we scramble for the best finish. I've been chasing "King" all year and I was able to shrink the spread a little. Skelp is also closing the gap.

Seasons best to all the regulars in our league.

Will you all be back in the new year.?

Steffi Graf completed a Golden Slam (not just a career Grand Slam) when she was 19. She is the only person to accomplish that, winning the four majors plus Olympic gold the same calendar year.
