Son knocks down Shelton in Tokyo
A small French festival is currently taking place in Tokyo.
Following Ugo Humbert's qualification for the semi-finals, Arthur Fils has now booked his place in the final four.
Having previously enjoyed a very favorable draw, the young Frenchman played his very best tennis to defeat Ben Shelton on Sunday (7-5, 6-7, 7-6).
Although he dominated much of the match, Fils nevertheless put up a real scare, faltering at several key moments and succumbing to the aggression of a hard-hitting American. The 20-year-old needed more than three hours to qualify.
With great determination, he finally overcame the trap and will now challenge Holger Rune for a place in the tournament final.
