Stats: Rybakina, first Kazakhstanaise in WTA Finals semifinals

Elena Rybakina has just achieved a historic feat in Riyadh.

At 26 years old, the Kazakh player has just made Kazakh tennis history by becoming the first player from her country to reach the semifinals of the WTA Finals. A major performance in this tournament which only brings together the eight best players of the season.

For the player competing in her third appearance here, this qualification has a very special flavor. After two frustrating editions, the 2022 Wimbledon champion has finally found the formula, and her last two sets against Swiatek (3-6, 6-1, 6-0) were a model of efficiency: 5/6 break points converted.

Could Rybakina become the unexpected heroine of these WTA Finals?
