Strong Start for Draper in Rome
Runner-up in Madrid, Jack Draper made a solid debut at the Rome Masters 1000, defeating Luciano Darderi in straight sets (6-1, 6-4) in 1 hour and 18 minutes.
Relying on 33 winners and winning 76% of points behind his first serve, the world No. 5 managed to save all seven break points his opponent earned during the match.
With confidence, Draper now advances to the third round of the Italian tournament. He will be the heavy favorite against qualifier Vit Kopriva, who upset Sebastian Baez in three sets (3-6, 6-4, 6-4).
