Stubbs on Serena Williams' mentality: She's never rested on her laurels.

Tennis legend Serena Williams is one of the greatest champions of all time.

With 23 Grand Slams won in her illustrious career, the American has truly left her mark with a rare longevity, having been active from 1995 to 2022.

As a former professional player, Rennae Stubbs affirms, Serena Williams demonstrated a quality that served her well throughout her career.

Reflecting on the London 2012 Olympic final won comfortably over Maria Sharapova (6-0, 6-1), the Australian talks about Williams' state of mind.

"I've never seen anyone play better than that match. It was as if the defeat she suffered against Maria all those years ago on this court in 2004 had made her react.

On the men's side, I'd say maybe Novak Djokovic, but I don't think anyone held a grudge like Serena Williams, and that's one of the reasons why she was so great. She never rested on her laurels," she detailed in her podcast.
