"Suspended for 210 km/h": The Vertiginous Descent of Stefanos Tsitsipas
Already weakened in his sporting career, Stefanos Tsitsipas has just suffered another blow, this time on the road. Driving his luxurious Lotus, the Greek number one was caught at 210 km/h on the Attiki Odos, a highway with a speed limit of 120 km/h.
The new automatic speed cameras, recently installed in the country, left no chance for the tennis star. Result:
- €2,000 fine,
- immediate online payment,
- license suspended for one year.
A heavy and symbolic penalty: Tsitsipas becomes one of the first celebrities caught by Greece's new digital fine system.
But while his car was speeding, his career has also started to drift. The two-time Grand Slam finalist, former world number 3, has experienced it all: triumphs in Monte-Carlo, a Masters title, a meteoric rise.
Then the engine suddenly seized up. Now ranked 34th in the world, he may not be seeded at the Australian Open in 2026.
