Svitolina and Zheng to play charity match at Melbourne Park
On January 8, Elina Svitolina and Zheng Qinwen will play a charity match at Rod Laver Arena during the Australian Open qualifying round.
Funds will be raised by the Australian Tennis Federation, and redistributed to Ukraine to support children.
Zheng was due to start her season at the United Cup, but ultimately decided against it, believing she needed a rest after a long 2024 season.
Svitolina, on the other hand, is deeply committed to supporting her war-torn country. The two players will play their first match of the year on this occasion.
