Swiatek crushes Lys to reach Australian Open quarter-finals

Iga Swiatek ended Eva Lys's adventure as a lucky loser. In barely an hour of play, the Polish player won 6-0, 6-1.

In four matches played in Melbourne, she lost just eleven games, and just four in her last three matches.

In a post-match interview, she declared: "It was my first night session. It's an incredible atmosphere. I'm 23, and I still have a lot of room for improvement in my game.

This kind of match obviously gives me a lot of confidence.

I'm feeling good about this tournament. I'm enjoying being on and off the court in Melbourne, and I hope it lasts for a long time to come."

In the next round, she will face the winner of the match between Emma Navarro and Daria Kasatkina.
