Last year's runners-up, Poland, were making their United Cup 2025 debut.

Led by Iga Swiatek, the European nation is hoping to do at least as well this season. The current world number 2 opened the tournament against Norway.

In her first singles match since mid-November at the BJK Cup, Swiatek was up against Malene Helgo.

The Pole, who provoked a wave of reactions following her positive test for trimetazidine during Cincinnati, was largely dominant and conceded just one game in the match.

After 1h02 of play, Swiatek sealed the deal 6-1, 6-0, putting his team in a favourable position to win the match.

Next up is the clash between Casper Ruud and Hubert Hurkacz. Should the latter win, Poland will contest the final for first place against the Czech Republic, while Norway will officially withdraw from the competition.

Struggles with injuries and lack of money: the double punishment for tennis players far from the Top 100 stars
Clément Gehl 30/11/2025 à 12h25
A tennis player's income depends solely on his sporting results. In the event of injury, the daily life of those far from the Top 100 can become extremely complicated.

Is padel threatening tennis? Inside the revolution shaking up the established order

Born almost by accident in an Acapulco garden, padel has in fifty years become a global phenomenon that both fascinates and worries tennis. Its meteoric rise is already reshaping the landscape of racket sports.

Training future champions: spotlight on the decline of the French public model facing private academies
Arthur Millot 06/12/2025 à 13h10
As federations struggle to reinvent themselves, private academies are capturing talent… but also families able to invest tens of thousands of euros a year. A system that is increasingly effective, but also increasingly unequal.

As we move to the end of this month and also closing out the year I am wishing all of those following me a Merry Christmas and a Happy/Healthy New Year.

Let's make that wish for all 2000 plus players hoping for 5 wins each day. Hoping ŵhen we open the results page to see all green, and no red. And especially NO CANCELED matches.

From me and my rotti JAZ, I bid you all good night, and see you in...

why did tennis tonic void predictions on the match between Chwalinska and Huergo at the Quito tournament? The match was played to completion and on time. If TT feels the match is one sided, and of course it was, then don't put it up for prediction. This is getting irritating.

The finals are here, and we scramble for the best finish. I've been chasing "King" all year and I was able to shrink the spread a little. Skelp is also closing the gap.

Seasons best to all the regulars in our league.

Will you all be back in the new year.?

Steffi Graf completed a Golden Slam (not just a career Grand Slam) when she was 19. She is the only person to accomplish that, winning the four majors plus Olympic gold the same calendar year.
