Swiatek explains the reasons for her defeat: "I think she played better than me".

Iga Swiatek was knocked out of the Australian Open in the semi-finals by Madison Keys, despite a match point in the third set.
The Pole, who has never played a final in Melbourne, came up against a confident player, as she explained at her press conference:
"I could have won if I'd capitalized on the easy points with my serve like she did. She always knows how to react when she's in danger on her serve, mine wasn't as strong.
Maybe that made the difference. It was a very close match from the start. I wanted to forget about the second set and get my game back on track.
I felt I was only playing my game in the first and third sets, even if I didn't control it 100% like in my previous matches.
I think I played well, but she played better. She made fewer mistakes than in the matches I've beaten her in. I did everything I could. I wouldn't say I failed or that I should have won."
