The draw for the WTA 1000 in Rome has been revealed:

In the top half of the draw, the top seed and last year's finalist, Sabalenka, receives a bye and will face Yastremska or Potapova in her opening match. Gauff, who played the Belarusian in the Madrid final, will take on Zucchini or a qualifier in her first-round match in the Italian capital. Andreeva also joins this section of the draw.

In the bottom half, defending champion Swiatek will face the winner of the match between Avanesyan and Cocciaretto. Pegula, meanwhile, will go up against Krueger or a qualifier. The 31-year-old American is now ranked second in the WTA standings.

Players Keys and Paolini are also in the bottom half. The American could face France's Gracheva in her opener, while the Italian would take on her compatriot Pedone—if the latter manages to defeat New Zealand's Sun.

why did tennis tonic void predictions on the match between Chwalinska and Huergo at the Quito tournament? The match was played to completion and on time. If TT feels the match is one sided, and of course it was, then don't put it up for prediction. This is getting irritating.

The finals are here, and we scramble for the best finish. I've been chasing "King" all year and I was able to shrink the spread a little. Skelp is also closing the gap.

Seasons best to all the regulars in our league.

Will you all be back in the new year.?

Steffi Graf completed a Golden Slam (not just a career Grand Slam) when she was 19. She is the only person to accomplish that, winning the four majors plus Olympic gold the same calendar year.
