Tabilo absent for several weeks and likely to miss Wimbledon

The 2025 season for Alejandro Tabilo is taking a bad turn. The 28-year-old Chilean, injured in his left wrist during the Monte-Carlo Masters 1000 (where he had surprisingly defeated Novak Djokovic), was sidelined for a month and a half, before making his return for Roland-Garros. After his victory against Arthur Cazaux in Paris, he was defeated in the next round by Alexei Popyrin.
However, during the Challenger in Prostejov in the Czech Republic last week, the world number 56 faced another setback. During his lost semifinal against Tseng Chun-Hsin (6-4, 6-1), Tabilo was injured in another part of his body, and will have to remain absent for several more weeks, as he confirmed himself on his Instagram account in the past hours.
"Hello everyone! I wanted to inform you that today, several tests we conducted confirmed the injury we feared. I am suffering from a grade 3 tear in the rectus abdominis.
This is very bad news for the coming weeks and I will not be able to participate in the upcoming tournaments. We don't yet know when I will be able to return, but we will work hard to try to come back as soon as possible.
I hope you understand and continue to support me. I look forward to seeing you upon my return," Alejandro Tabilo wrote this Saturday on his Instagram account.
A situation that should, barring any unexpected changes, deprive him of Wimbledon, which begins on June 30th. Last year, the Chilean reached the third round on the London grass.
