Tennis photographer Dubreuil on Federer: "He really puts you at ease, he's adorable".
Corinne Dubreuil, a well-known photographer on the ATP circuit, has just published a book entitled 'Iconic Roger Federer', dedicated to the Swiss player's immense and iconic career.
Published by Editions Amphora, with a foreword by Stan Wawrinka, the book is likely to unleash passions.
In a statement relayed by Tennis Legend, Dubreuil recalls: "When he won his last Wimb (in 2018), I had an order from a Swiss newspaper. 'For the cover, we need something exclusive'. I come in Monday morning, he's doing the media, and the ATP person says, 'Come on, follow us.' So here we are, inside the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, and we're going the way they go to get to the center court.
I say to myself: enjoy it, because you won't do it twice. You have all the lounges, you go down the steps, you arrive in the hall that precedes the entrance. You arrive on the court. I was a little tense. Roger has a photo to take, he comes back and, there, he's on his knees with his trophy. And I realize it's for me.
Every time I've taken photos off the pitch, he makes you feel really at ease, he's adorable, he knows how to do things by heart. Once, I did a series of photos for the ITF, we had five minutes, but it was so large that the guy is so at ease. He knows how to do it, how to look, and that was pure joy.
Doing a portrait session with him is really nice. He makes you feel at ease, and that's something you really appreciate.
