In the Sans Filet show broadcast on YouTube, the commentators present had to rank what they considered to be the greatest finals in the history of tennis from a given list.
When the 1983 final between Noah and Wilander (6-2, 7-5, 7-6) was mentioned, Quentin Mengual (Name on X), appearing on the channel, reflected on the historic victory of the Frenchman at Roland-Garros:
"It's legendary for the French, but if you take out the two players and replace them with Norrie and Lehečka... There's nothing legendary about this final. Eternal respect to Yannick Noah for this victory, he was so strong that ultimately the scenario makes it not a final that is remembered in the history of world sports, French yes, but not worldwide.
