The court has issued its decision regarding the dispute between Wimbledon and its local residents

This Monday, the verdict in the dispute between Wimbledon's management and local residents was announced. Following the residents' complaint about the site's expansion, the High Court of London rejected the challenge, thereby approving the building permit.
The group "Save Wimbledon Park," which had pushed to cancel the expansion project of the Wimbledon site, will not see its wish granted. The €231 million project, which includes the construction of 39 new courts, should now proceed.
"Save Wimbledon Park" argued that the All England Club did not have the right to redevelop a former golf course in Wimbledon Park, which it had acquired in 1993.
For its part, the All England Club maintained that it had followed the legal process and is now preparing for a second legal battle—this time initiated by itself—to demonstrate that the golf course is not subject to certain restrictions from the 1993 agreement, reports the newspaper L'Équipe.
