The crowd played a key role in pushing Alcaraz," Vagnozzi reflects on the Roland-Garros final
Simone Vagnozzi, co-coach of Jannik Sinner alongside Darren Cahill, spoke to the media outlet Ubitennis and revisited the Roland-Garros final lost by the Italian against Carlos Alcaraz.
According to him, the Parisian crowd supported the Spaniard and played a part in his victory. He explained: "I think the crowd played a key role in pushing Alcaraz forward, but not in penalizing Jannik.
Carlos knew very well how to win the supporters' backing, and he succeeded, but we can't use that as a decisive factor in the outcome.
There are times when playing against the crowd can also be a good thing, an extra motivation, and let's not forget that in Rome, it was Sinner who enjoyed the majority's support.
