The culmination of a life of sacrifices," says Pennetta in the documentary retracing her career
A documentary retracing Flavia Pennetta's 2015 US Open victory and her career more broadly has just been released. Produced by Sky Sport, it will be broadcast for the first time on November 12.
The final was all the more significant for Italian tennis as Pennetta had faced her compatriot Roberta Vinci.
Present at the screening, the Italian said: "It was the culmination of a life of sacrifices, mine and my family's, of all those who dedicated their time to me. Today, I look back on it with immense pride because I achieved a fantastic result, never giving up and constantly pushing my limits. I also feel a certain tenderness because I see again the dream of a little girl.
