Paolini "Proud" to Carry the Olympic Torch for the Milan-Cortina 2026 Winter Games
Jasmine Paolini will carry the Olympic torch during the 2026 Winter Olympic Games, which will be held in her home country.
Since last year, Paolini has been one of the most consistent players on the WTA tour. Currently ranked 6th in the world, the 29-year-old player has won two WTA 1000 titles in her career and has also reached two Grand Slam singles finals.
Also a winner of the BJK Cup in 2024 and 2025, she will compete in the upcoming WTA Finals for the second consecutive year. While she was already performing well in doubles alongside Sara Errani, Paolini reached a new level when she surprisingly won the Dubai tournament last year.
This change in status also allows her to become a symbol of the success of Italian sport. Furthermore, on her social media, the native of Castelnuovo di Garfagnana announced some good news.
Indeed, she will be one of the 10,001 people selected to carry the Olympic torch for the Milan Cortina Winter Olympic Games, held from February 6 to 22, 2026.
"I am proud to be part of the Olympic torch relay for Milan Cortina 2026. Thank you to Coca-Cola for this incredible opportunity," Paolini wrote on her Instagram account.
Former professional player Flavia Pennetta, who notably won the US Open in 2015 and is a compatriot of Paolini, will also be among the privileged few to carry the Olympic torch, which will be in Rome starting December 6th of this year. The torch will then travel around the transalpine country for two months before the start of the Games.
