The Shanghai Masters 1000 has always been known for the speed of its courts, regularly making it the fastest Masters 1000 on the calendar.

But in this year 2025, the speed of the tournament's courts has significantly decreased. While the court speed index was 40.1 in 2023 and 40.8 in 2024, it has dropped this year to 32.9.

This considerable slowing of the surface combined with the ambient humidity in Shanghai makes playing conditions extremely difficult for the participating players.

why did tennis tonic void predictions on the match between Chwalinska and Huergo at the Quito tournament? The match was played to completion and on time. If TT feels the match is one sided, and of course it was, then don't put it up for prediction. This is getting irritating.
