"The fans want us to win every week, but it's not that easy," says Gauff

Coco Gauff was eliminated in the quarterfinals of the WTA 1000 tournament in Cincinnati. Still struggling with her service games (16 double faults, 7 breaks conceded), the American was overturned by Jasmine Paolini (2-6, 6-4, 6-3).
Since her title at Roland-Garros, the world number 2 has been having trouble, as she was defeated right away in Berlin and then at Wimbledon, before being eliminated in the round of 16 in Montreal. In a press conference, the 21-year-old player discussed the sometimes overwhelming pressure from fans regarding her results.
"Sometimes, tennis fans want us to win every week, but it's not that easy. We play eleven months out of the year. Compared to what happened before my US Open title two years ago, it's easier for me to manage these expectations now.
No one calls my season bad because I won Roland-Garros, and for people, winning a Grand Slam more or less defines whether you've had a successful season or not. This is true for me but also for other players on the circuit.
I would say that it's completely normal for a player to be really performing for three or four weeks, then experience a downturn for a month because that's how our season is structured with the sequence of tournaments," Gauff assured on Tennis One App.
