Sinner Faces Surprise Opponent Atmane, Zverev-Alcaraz Clash, Doubles Action: Saturday’s Schedule for August 16 in Cincinnati

This Saturday, the men’s semifinals of the Cincinnati Masters 1000 take center stage. The top players on the tour have largely held their ground in this tournament, with three of the top four seeds still in contention at the semifinal stage.
Defending champion Jannik Sinner will be in action at 9 PM French time against the tournament’s breakout star, Terence Atmane. The French qualifier has already delivered an outstanding performance, securing wins over Nishioka, Cobolli, Fonseca, Fritz, and Rune.
This time, however, he faces the towering Sinner, the undisputed world No. 1 for the past year. It will be the first meeting between the two on the main tour. Later, at midnight, Alexander Zverev and Carlos Alcaraz will battle for the second spot in the final.
Also on the schedule are three doubles matches on Center Court. The day kicks off with the men’s doubles semifinals.
First, the duo of Nikola Mektic and Rajeev Ram will take on Julian Cash and Lloyd Glasspool, the No. 2 seeds and recent winners at Wimbledon and Toronto.
The other semifinal, held right before the singles matches, will pit the British pair Joe Salisbury and Neal Skupski against the Italian duo Lorenzo Musetti and Lorenzo Sonego.
Finally, after the Zverev-Alcaraz showdown, the second women’s doubles semifinal will take place in the evening between Sara Errani and Jasmine Paolini (No. 1 seeds) and Guo Hanyu and Alexandra Panova.
The winning pair will advance to face Gabriela Dabrowski and Erin Routliffe (No. 2 seeds) in the final, who secured their spot in a thrilling match against Lyudmyla Kichenok and Ellen Perez (3-6, 6-3, 12-10).
