"The mentally strongest player on the tour," says Petkovic about Sinner
Although retired, Andrea Petkovic continues to follow professional tennis very closely. In remarks relayed by We Love Tennis, she spoke about Jannik Sinner's season and his mental strength.
She states: "Despite a three-month absence, Sinner almost ended the year as world number one, which is simply incredible. His team supported him during his suspension: he was only allowed to train individually, and never with active players, and only in official clubs.
The conditions were extremely difficult. His return to the final in Rome was simply incredible. For me, he is the mentally strongest player on the entire tour."
