"The people around me were wrong, and it led me to undergo three surgeries," Raducanu's confessions about her past entourage

In a lengthy interview with the British newspaper *The Guardian*, Emma Raducanu opened up about the highs and lows of her career. The 22-year-old player reflected on her past injuries, particularly in connection with her team at the time.
"The members of my team told me I wasn’t tough enough, so of course, I believed them. However, I don’t think it was good to hear, because I’ve always prided myself on being a hard worker. And I truly believe I am.
In reality, I think it was the people around me who were wrong, and it led me to undergo three surgeries, including a double wrist surgery. I was overtraining and hiding it. I wouldn’t say I was in pain, even when I was in serious discomfort.
So it was really tough to hear. But over time, with experience, I’ve understood my body a bit better and gained a bit more confidence in myself."
For context, Raducanu underwent surgeries on both wrists and her left ankle. Additionally, she has changed coaches multiple times. Today, she is working with Francisco Roig, a former member of Rafael Nadal’s team.
