The question remains open, Mauresmo discusses the future of line judges at Roland-Garros

While the ATP and WTA tours have fully adopted electronic officiating, the Roland-Garros tournament has decided to keep its line judges for the 2025 edition.

However, their future remains uncertain, as the tournament director, Amélie Mauresmo, stated in a press conference: "It's true that things went very well, right up to the final day, with an overall very high standard, which is a big satisfaction, because we're a bit like the last of the Mohicans with line judges.

We’ll revisit this topic again. We asked ourselves the question last year, and we’ll do it again, weighing the pros and cons. What could lead to there being no line judges next year? Right now, I don’t have the answer.

The idea was to observe electronic officiating. This time, we had the experiences from previous tournaments, which were quite mixed. We saw some inconsistencies in terms of reliability.

We’ll have this discussion with Gilles (Moretton, president of the FFT) and all the teams to see where we want to go—or not. The question remains open.
