The WTA communicates after the incident involving Raducanu in Dubai

On Tuesday evening, Emma Raducanu was playing her second round match at the WTA 1000 tournament in Dubai.
Opposed to Karolina Muchova in the evening session after the program had been severely disrupted by rain, the British player experienced a funny moment at the start of the match.
Having just been broken by the Czech, who led 2 games to 0 in the first set, the British player broke down in tears and took refuge behind the umpire's chair after being approached by a spectator in the stands.
Muchova came to console Raducanu and play resumed. The 2023 French Open finalist had the last word (7-6, 6-4). A few hours after the incident, the WTA issued a statement on the subject.
"On Monday February 17, Emma Raducanu was approached in public by an individual who displayed obsessive behavior towards her.
This same individual was identified in the front rows of the court during this Tuesday's match at the WTA 1000 tournament in Dubai and was thus expelled.
The man will be banned from all WTA events until further notice. Player safety is our top priority and tournaments are informed of the best safety practices for international sporting events.
The WTA is actively working with Emma and her team to ensure her well-being and provide her with all the support she needs.
We remain committed to working with tournaments and their security teams around the world to maintain a safe environment for all players," reads the WTA's X (formerly Twitter) account.
