"These are the matches that shape you, that define who you are," Sinner's coach reacts after defeat
Sinner faced a major disappointment after losing in the Roland-Garros final following an unforgettable battle lasting over five hours. On his Instagram account, Simone Vagnozzi, one of the Italian's coaches, paid tribute to him:
"It hurts. But these are the matches that shape you, that define who you are. Those who experience it know what lies behind every shot, every leap, every fist pump: total dedication. Yesterday, you showed the world not only your tennis but also the heart and resilience of a world No. 1.
The country is proud of you, and I am even prouder. Standing by your side is not just an honor but a responsibility I carry with pride. This historic match will make you even stronger. Congratulations to Carlos Alcaraz and his entire team."
The two have been working together since February 2022. Alongside Darren Cahill, Vagnozzi notably won the ATP Coach of the Year award in 2023.
