They chose that to mess with us," Rinderknech discusses the Davis Cup match against Croatia
Now eliminated from the US Open, Arthur Rinderknech can focus on the match between France and Croatia in the Davis Cup.
The Frenchman has been selected alongside Benjamin Bonzi, Ugo Humbert, and Pierre-Hugues Herbert.
In comments relayed by Tennis Actu, Rinderknech revealed his plans for the coming days: "Yeah, it's going to be a shortened preparation. Now, we still have time to acclimatize. It's clay, obviously.
Why did they choose clay? Probably to mess with us more than anything else. But it's a smart move on their part. They're playing at home, they do what they want.
So yeah, it's going to be a quick preparation. I also need to take a few days to go home, recover, because it's good to prepare, but preparing while tired will bring more risks or poor results than anything else.
So first, it's about recovering, going back home, and then I think we leave for Croatia on Sunday, so starting next Monday, it will be clay preparation with the guys and giving it all as a team to beat them.
