Novak Djokovic advanced to the semifinals of Roland-Garros by defeating Alexander Zverev. This Friday, he will face Jannik Sinner, the world No. 1 who appears to be in exceptional form.
When asked in a press conference about his approach to the match, the Serb replied: "I know what to expect from Jannik. He will give it his all. He will play at an extremely high level, as he has in every tournament he’s played in over the past year and a half.
I expect nothing less from him. However, these kinds of confrontations and challenges bring out the best in me. Best-of-five-set matches, Grand Slam finals, against the world No. 1… nothing motivates me more at this age.
That’s how I see things now. How will I stop him? I’m not thinking about that. I’m thinking about how I will execute what I want to do on the court and how I will feel.
I’ll meet with my team tomorrow, and we’ll go over everything, work on specific things in practice for my match against Jannik. I’ll do my best to be ready.
