"This year has been absolutely crazy," the Cash/Glasspool pair guaranteed to finish the season atop the ATP doubles rankings
The British pair of Julian Cash and Lloyd Glasspool are now guaranteed to finish the 2025 season at the top of the ATP doubles rankings.
After a highly successful season, Julian Cash and Lloyd Glasspool qualified for the ATP Finals. Winners at Wimbledon 89 years after the last triumph by a British men's doubles duo at the London tournament, the two men also won the Toronto tournament and reached the finals in Miami, Monte-Carlo, and Paris, as well as the quarter-finals of the Australian Open.
Impressive in their consistency throughout the season, they contested eleven finals this season, winning seven titles (Brisbane, Doha, Queen's, Eastbourne, Wimbledon, Toronto, and Vienna).
It is therefore logical that Cash (29) and Glasspool (31), who are playing their first full season together after starting to play joint tournaments in 2024, begin the ATP Finals in doubles as the number 1 seeds.
Following their victory against the German pair Kevin Krawietz/Tim Puetz (7-6, 6-2) on November 11th and, after their opening loss to the Italians Simone Bolelli/Andrea Vavassori, the Brits will play for a spot in the semi-finals of the Doubles Masters against Marcel Granollers and Horacio Zeballos in the coming hours.
While awaiting to find out if they will continue their adventure in Turin, the two men have in any case received excellent news in recent hours. Indeed, with the defeat of Granollers and Zeballos against Bolelli and Vavassori, Cash and Glasspool received confirmation that they would finish the season at the top of the doubles rankings. They even received this trophy after their victory against the defending German champions in recent hours.
"This year has been absolutely crazy, that's for sure. We worked very hard during the off-season. We couldn't have done it without the help of everyone in the box, as well as my family. It takes a lot of people to get here," assured Glasspool during the ceremony, before Cash added.
"We've accomplished so much this year, and I think at the start of the year, we both genuinely believed this was possible for us. To find ourselves here today is truly surreal," they both assured Tennis Up To Date.
