Tiafoe on his US Open semi-final in 2024: "It will only light the fire in me"
Frances Tiafoe looks back on his performance at the US Open in 2024. He reached the semi-finals, losing to compatriot Taylor Fritz.
He said: "It wasn't easy to lose in the semi-finals of the US Open 2024.
I really thought I could have been in the final. I thought it was pretty uneven up to that point.
Once again, you have to take your hat off to Taylor. He fought hard and deserved to win. The guy who wins the match deserves to win.
I'm glad it was an American who won. It was great to see him play a final. It will only light the fire in me to keep working."
A quarter-finalist at the Australian Open in 2019, Tiafoe intends to repeat that performance this year.
