Tiafoe reaches his first Roland-Garros quarterfinal after defeating Altmaier
Two American players will compete in the quarterfinals of this 2025 edition of Roland-Garros.
Following Tommy Paul's qualification—who will face Carlos Alcaraz—Frances Tiafoe secured his spot by defeating Daniel Altmaier on Court Suzanne-Lenglen.
The world No. 16 won in three sets (6-3, 6-4, 7-6), narrowly avoiding a prolonged match as his opponent led 5-2 in the third set.
For his very first Roland-Garros quarterfinal, Tiafoe will face the winner of the night session match between Lorenzo Musetti and Holger Rune.
