Dmitry Tursunov, former world No. 20 and who coached Aryna Sabalenka intermittently between 2018 and 2020, spoke about the Belarusian player.
Sabalenka had broken into the Top 10 under Tursunov’s guidance. He stated: "Aryna is open, cheerful, and in good spirits. She doesn’t dwell on the negative and bounces back easily from setbacks.
Impulsive by nature, she doesn’t always take the time to think through her decisions. But it hasn’t affected her career. So far, everything has gone smoothly, without a hitch.
She is, of course, fiery, but she was receptive. She didn’t show much resistance. I managed to convince Aryna—we got along well.
And what progress she made! To become world number one, she was ready to change.
