Tsitsipas' lovely message to Sinner and Sabalenka: "True champions elevate the game."
Since the end of the US Open and the coronations of Aryna Sabalenka and Jannik Sinner, messages have been pouring in to congratulate the two new champions.
Their performances, both authors of a very high-level tournament in which they largely dominated the competition, command respect.
That said, one of the congratulatory messages is perhaps worth a closer look.
Stefanos Tsitsipas, ranked 12th in the world and beaten from the start at the US Open, had particularly complimentary words for Sabalenka and Sinner: "Congratulations, Aryna and Jannik.
Your victories resonate far beyond the court. True champions elevate the game."
