Tsitsipas splits from Ivanisevic after just a few weeks of collaboration

Goran Ivanisevic is (already) no longer Stefanos Tsitsipas' coach. Struggling for several months, the Greek had enlisted the 2001 Wimbledon winner after the end of the French Open, notably to prepare for the grass season.
However, things did not go as planned, and the current world number 29, suffering from a back injury, had to retire in the first round in London, as he was trailing two sets to zero against Valentin Royer.
Publicly criticized by his new coach several times, especially regarding his physical condition incompatible with success at the top level, according to him, Tsitsipas resumed at the Hopman Cup, where he represented Greece last week.
But on the brink of starting the usual North American tour (Canadian Open - Cincinnati - US Open), the Greek will have to do without the Croatian's advice, as he announced on social media that their collaboration was ending with immediate effect.
"Working with Goran Ivanisevic was a short but intense experience, and a truly valuable chapter in my journey. I am grateful for the time, effort, and energy he dedicated to me, but also to my entire team.
As our paths separate, I have nothing but respect for Goran, not only for what he has achieved in tennis but also for the person he is. I can only wish him the best for the future," wrote Tsitsipas, who will turn 27 on August 12, on his Instagram account.
