After a first-round win against Engel (6-4, 6-1), Humbert fell to Marozsan (6-4, 6-4) in his second match in Munich.
Since his title win in Marseille, the Metz native has had inconsistent performances. The world No. 21 has suffered early exits in Miami and Monte-Carlo.
The Frenchman couldn't find solutions against Marozsan, committing 22 unforced errors and winning only 31% of return points. He also earned four break points but converted just one.
Meanwhile, the Hungarian had previously lost in the first round of Miami and Monte-Carlo to Monfils. During the match, the world No. 71 struck 17 winners and converted 3 out of 7 break points.
In the next round, he will face Bergs for a spot in the semifinals.
