Video - Marozsan Didn't Realize He Had Won His Match Against Humbert in Munich
Fabian Marozsan clearly wasn’t paying attention to the scoreboard during match point in his second-round clash against Ugo Humbert this Thursday in Munich.
The Hungarian won in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4, but forgot the most important thing—the score. When his opponent’s return landed in the net, Marozsan clenched his fist and immediately went to grab his towel.
It was only moments later, after Humbert had already shaken the umpire’s hand, that he realized the match was truly over.
The moment was reminiscent of Roger Federer’s famous oversight at the 2014 Halle tournament, where the Swiss star didn’t realize he had won his semifinal against Kei Nishikori.
