United Cup - Machac defeats Cobolli to send Czech Republic through to semi-finals

The United Cup quarter-final encounter between the Czech Republic and Italy showed no suspense.

It began with the women's singles between Jasmine Paolini and Karolina Muchova. The Czech won 6-2, 6-2. Despite the scoreless draw, the match lasted 1h43.

Tomas Machac beat Flavio Cobolli 6-1, 6-2 in less than an hour.

The Czech Republic have now reached the semi-finals of the United Cup and will face the USA for a place in the final.
