Vagnozzi wants to coach Sinner for a long time: "I hope to continue with Jannik as long as possible"
Jannik Sinner's coach, Simone Vagnozzi, discussed his collaboration with his fellow Italian, who has won three ATP tour titles this season.
Jannik Sinner has experienced many emotions in 2025. Winner of three titles including two Grand Slams (Australian Open, Wimbledon, Beijing), the current world number 2 also spent three months off the tour from February to May due to a suspension.
However, this situation did not diminish his appetite, and Sinner returned stronger than ever, also reaching finals in Rome, Roland Garros, Cincinnati, and the US Open, falling each time to Carlos Alcaraz.
His coach, Simone Vagnozzi, reflected on his partnership with Sinner, also mentioning Darren Cahill, who announced at the start of the season his intention to retire at the end of the year.
"I hope to continue with Jannik (Sinner) as long as possible, we'll see how far we go. In the distant future, I might find motivation to do the same with another player.
But maybe I'll spend 15 years with Sinner and he'll be the last tennis player I coach. In any case, that's what I hope. Regarding Darren (Cahill), I think he might continue, so we haven't considered anyone else to replace him for now.
For now, however, nothing is official and we don't know what he plans to do," Vagnozzi stated in recent hours to La Gazzetta dello Sport. Sinner will begin his campaign against Daniel Altmaier in Shanghai this Saturday.
