Julien Varlet strongly criticized Novak Djokovic's withdrawal from the Turin Masters.

Despite his intense victory against Musetti in Athens, Djokovic will not participate in the prestigious year-end Masters. Long uncertain, the Serbian confirmed his withdrawal during the press conference after the final.

But while this choice was understood by some, it was also criticized by others, like Julien Varlet, a columnist on the "Sans Filet" show on Winamax, who stated the following:

"That the final was monstrous, no problem. But you announce it before, not after. I find it to be a lack of respect for the other players. It's not classy. As much as what he achieved in the final was great, the behavior towards the Masters, the organizers, and the players, I find that to be small.

Obviously, he's won it seven times, he doesn't care about not playing. But I would have been curious to see him, in a short format, because that's really where he can still be competitive. For me, it's not a good look, and Djokovic's greatness takes a hit."

Well, he did declare that he will confirm his decision only after the Athens final and he did exactly that... giving Lorenzo and Felix both a chance to play the finals for a first time...what a bad person he is! Shame on him...Julien who?

Hello I'm new

1j

I am surprised about relatively low attendance at Roland Garros which was the most popular slam 20+ years ago. I myself love it as well as really loving aus and us opens. I don't care about Wimbledon, sometimes maybe I can watch women's tennis. I hate Wimbledon's white dress code, I feel like I am watching junior tennis...I watched very few matches like Graf davenport final in 1999 the last time.....

It will really be befitting if he attains his 25th Grand Slam crown at the AO for he's truly the GOAT & this will stamp him & endorse his GOAT status without an iota of doubt

Almost as important to Djokovic as Slam #25--and requiring less luck--is beating Federer's total of 103 singles titles. He'll play 250s, and might even surpass Connors's 109.
