"Very happy with the level of play I showed," Kouamé remains positive despite his defeat in Roland-Garros qualifications

Moïse Kouamé will not participate in the main draw of Roland-Garros this year. The young 16-year-old French player, ranked 835th in the world, had an excellent start against Pol Martin Tiffon but eventually lost to the 25-year-old player, ranked 208th in the ATP, with scores of 2-6, 6-4, 6-3.
A quarter-finalist in the Juniors tournament last year, Kouamé only wants to focus on the positives from this experience, even though he was eliminated in the first round of qualifications this time.
"There is a bit of disappointment, that's for sure. However, I am also very happy with the level of play I showed today (Tuesday) on the court. I was playing against a very strong opponent. It's very good for the future.
A big thank you to the crowd who supported me throughout the match. I am happy I was able to manage my emotions; it wasn't easy. I knew there were expectations, but I didn't think it was that much," analyzed Kouamé, who also addressed the rumors of working with Gilles Simon.
"With Gilles, it never started; it was a trial period. We did some training sessions, one tournament. Unfortunately, we couldn't agree on everything. I'm still searching, but I think I've found the coach I need (the Belgian Philippe Dehaes). He has known the very high level since he coached Kasatkina," explained Kouamé to Tennis Actu TV.
