Victorious in Hamburg, Boisson Ends Long Drought for French Women's Tennis
French women's tennis had to wait for the rise of 22-year-old Loïs Boisson to taste success again.
Indeed, since Caroline Garcia at the 2022 WTA Finals in Fort Worth, no French player had managed to win a title on the main tour.
After two years and eight months, Boisson ended this drought by clinching the Hamburg tournament this Sunday, just over a month after her semifinal run at Roland-Garros. The Dijon native also became the first Frenchwoman born in the 2000s to win a WTA title.
