Video - Moutet's Winning Tweener at the Net Against Comesaña at Wimbledon

Corentin Moutet made a perfect start to his Wimbledon campaign. The Frenchman, ranked 69th in the world, comfortably defeated Francisco Comesaña (6-4, 6-4, 6-2) in his opening match in London this year. Moutet, who will face Grigor Dimitrov for a spot in the third round, once again entertained the crowd and delighted spectators on Court 11 with 38 winners.
One of those highlights came when the 26-year-old Frenchman, already in control of the match with a two-set lead and a break in the third, began one of his service games with a tweener at the net. This followed a perfectly executed drop shot that put him in an ideal position to finish the point. Then, after faking a smash, he pulled off a tweener on the run to seal the point, which he had masterfully constructed (see video below).
The moment was met with applause from the crowd and a classy display of sportsmanship from Comesaña, who approached the net to acknowledge his opponent’s brilliant shot.
Fresh off a runner-up finish at the Mallorca tournament in recent days, Moutet has built momentum and will now take on a former semifinalist in London—Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov—as he looks to continue his journey.
