Video - Sonego's incredible backstroke

Lorenzo Sonego can probably claim to have made the best shot of the Australian Open 2025 so far.

During a break point against Stanislas Wawrinka in the third set, the Italian was in a very bad position, swept aside by the Swiss.

After a lob from Wawrinka, Sonego found the energy to go to the ball and deliver a magnificent backhand shot, which turned into a winning point, leaving Wawrinka totally frozen.

After this magnificent exchange, the crowd cheered Sonego on.
