Video - Virtually empty stands for the WTA Finals
Held in Saudi Arabia for the first time in history, the WTA Masters is clearly failing to draw large crowds.
While the WTA promotes players' statements such as that of Aryna Sabalenka, who said she found the "atmosphere great" after her first match, the reality is quite different.
Thanks to a video shared by the Telegraph, we can see that the stands were virtually empty on the second day of competition, with just over a hundred people in the stadium (see video below).
A sad commentary for women's tennis at a time when spectators have the opportunity to watch the season's top eight players go head-to-head.
As a reminder, Riyadh will host the WTA Finals until 2026.
